We are delighted to celebrate our wedding in Colombia’s coastal jewel, Cartagena. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this city stands as one of South America’s most treasured cultural landmarks. Within its historic heart, known as the Walled City, you will find charming plazas, cobblestone streets, and magnificent colonial buildings painted in vibrant colors.

The finest way to experience Cartagena is on foot, allowing yourself to wander through its maze of narrow streets and lush, verdant plazas. We recommend staying within the Walled City, where everything lies just a short stroll away. The constant melody of live music, paired with an exquisite culinary scene and character-filled bars, infuses every corner with the city’s vibrant spirit.

isla de barú

Coastal area located 45 minutes by boat, known for its paradisiacal almost virgin white sand beaches, transparent waters and coral reefs.

castillo san felipe

One of the most famous sites, corresponding to a castle built in the seventeenth century, considered the most outstanding work of Spanish military engineering in America.

Torre del Reloj

Famous gateway to the walled city, characterized by its baroque stone doorway that precedes an imposing structure.

Murallas de Cartagena

Forification that took more than a hundred years to complete, carried out in stages from 1586 to 1699, encompassing the perimeter of the center of the old city, San Diego and Getsemaní.

cerro de la popa

Highest point in Cartagena, a strategic position that allows privileged views of both the old city and the Caribbean Sea, the island of Tierrabomba and La Boquilla.

Teatro Heredia

Magnificent eclectic-style building erected in 1902, designed by Luis Felipe Jaspe, the same architect who created the Cartagena Clock Tower.

Cartagena, Colombia.

Several major airlines —Latam, Delta, American Airlines, United, Aeroméxico, Copa Airlines, and Avianca— offer direct flights to Rafael Núñez International Airport, on Colombia’s Caribbean coast.

The easiest way to reach the Walled City from the airport is by taxi or Uber. The ride takes about 10 to 15 minutes. Authorized taxis are available 24 hours a day and operate with fixed cash fares: around 16,000 COP to Getsemaní, up to 18,000 COP to the hotel area in the historic center (Ciudad Amurallada), and about 30,000 COP to Bocagrande.

Typically, 1 USD equals approximately 4,100 COP. Since taxis do not always accept cards, Uber is often a more convenient option.
